The National Museum in Poznań undertakes to ensure the accessibility of its website in accordance with Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications. This accessibility statement applies to the National Museum in Poznań website.

The website is only partially compliant with the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications due to non-compliance and exemptions listed below.

not all user interface components and important graphics have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1 against adjacent colors;
people with impaired vision are unable to change the spacing between lines, paragraphs, words and letters;
lack of appropriate header structure of articles;
not all images on the website have alternative text;
the service includes PDF, DOC, etc. files, although their use was kept to a minimum, and texts were embedded directly into the service; a separate issue is the proper formatting of files, so that they are accessible (e.g. they should have a tag structure);
the service also includes PDF documents created on the basis of improperly prepared Word documents (they do not have a well-marked logical structure) or are scans of documents; we will try to improve them and make sure that new documents are prepared correctly.

The entrance to the museum for people with disabilities is located in the so-called new part of the main building from Al. Marcinkowskiego; these are glazed, automatically sliding doors (main entrance).
Access to the entrance is along the new part of the main building on a convenient ramp with a handrail.

The museum has one wheelchair available for loan.
On the ground floor (level 0) of the new part of the main building there is a ticket office and cloakroom and a toilet for people with disabilities, access to them is via a convenient communication route.

On the ground floor (level 0) of the main building there is the larger part of the temporary exhibition rooms.

To visit the permanent exhibitions on the floors of the so-called old building, people with mobility disabilities can use the elevator for the disabled located on the third floor of the new part (level 3) from the side of the connection of the new and old parts of the main building. The museum staff will help those interested in visiting the ground floor of the old building (hall, part of the permanent galleries and part of the temporary exhibition rooms).

Access to the Ancient Art Gallery is difficult (stairs, no elevator).

On the first and third levels of the permanent galleries in the new building, there are tactile panels to facilitate the visit to those with visual impairments, where the locations of the paintings and sculptures with descriptions in Braille are marked.

There is no sign language interpreter.

Two parking spaces for people with disabilities are located on Al. Marcinkowskiego behind the pedestrian crossing at the junction of the old and new museum building. The entrance for people with disabilities is located at the wooden entrance to the tower. After activating the bell located at the wooden stairs, please wait for the arrival of a security guard who will activate the elevator, help the person with a disability enter the museum premises and guide them to the entrance hall where the cash desk, shop, cloakroom and toilet for people with disabilities equipped with a baby changing table are located.

Two elevators are available for people with mobility impairments. One serves all floors of the museum exhibition and is located at the cloakroom, and the other serves the viewing terrace. Museum guests with visual impairments (but also those who can see) can learn about the elements of the castle thanks to the model of the Royal Castle located at the entrance gate, which is intended for touch and marked with descriptions in Braille.

Access to the viewing terrace is via the elevator in the tower. On the closed terrace level, there is a platform operated by a security guard, onto which a wheelchair is driven. The platform can be raised with the wheelchair so that the person with a disability can reach the windows of the terrace.

The museum is currently closed to visitors until September 2021. The project of a new exhibition in the Gothic cellars envisages the installation of cameras there so that people with disabilities on the ground floor (in the Reception Room) can watch the exhibition on a TV screen.
Further renovation plans for the Ratusz (from the ground floor to the second floor) include the construction of a ramp for people with disabilities on the south side of the building and the installation of an elevator in the staircase.

Three parking spaces for people with disabilities are located at the ticket office at ul. Arciszewskiego 1. People with mobility impairments who have a ticket to visit the exhibition can, after reporting at the ticket office, drive a mechanical vehicle to the palace courtyard and before the painting gallery, and also rent one of the two wheelchairs for people with disabilities for the duration of the visit.

At the ticket office there is a plan with marked routes to facilitate the movement of people with disabilities around the residence.

Guests of the museum with visual impairment (but also people who can see) can get to know the elements of the residence thanks to the model of the palace-park complex in Rogalin located at the museum ticket office, intended for touching and labeled with descriptions in Braille.
Palace

The entrance to the palace for people with disabilities is located in the right wing from the park side. After arriving at the entrance, please press the bell and wait for the arrival of a museum employee, who will open the entrance and let you into the building on the ground floor.

In the palace there is an elevator for people with disabilities connecting all floors and toilets for people with disabilities.

Guests of the palace with visual impairment (but also people who can see) can take advantage of free audioprides with audio description. After previous telephone notification, you can also get to know the palace thanks to tactile models with plans of individual rooms and selected elements of their historical decor.
Gallery of paintings

The main entrance to the gallery of paintings is accessible without architectural barriers from the south, lower part of the park. Internal entrance from the palace side enable two stair lifts. In the painting gallery there are relief albums for the blind and visually impaired, containing ten selected paintings from the collection of Edward Aleksander Raczyński.
Carriage house

The entrance to the carriage house is accessible from the palace courtyard without architectural barriers.
Park

The entrance to the park is possible from the disabled parking lot at ul. Arciszewskiego 1 or from the public parking lot at the provincial road 431. The park is accessible to all. You can move around it on designated communication roads (without architectural difficulties). You can enter the park with an assisting dog.

At the entrance to the park from the road 431 there is a plan with marked routes to facilitate the movement of people with disabilities around the residence.

We do not have a sign language interpreter. For guests with hearing impairments, we offer Polish, English and German descriptions available at the Palace, Picture Gallery and Carriage House. Adam Mickiewicz Museum in Śmiełowo Branch of the National Museum in Poznań.
