Park

Mickiewicz Museum in Śmiełów

According to the contemporary ideas, the park of the palace in Śmiełów was presumably created as a landscape establishment already in the 90s of the 18th century. G. Wohlrab’s plan of the park from 1831 is an extraordinary document that registers the tight connections of the establishment with the surrounding areas. It shows how in the western part of the palace (now called Zosia’s Garden, an orchard and a linden-hornbeam avenue) an old wirydarz was practically used. It once adjoined the dismantled wooden manor replaced by the palace.
