Education

Children and family

The National Museum of Poznań’s offer for the youngest is addressed to children of all ages. We invite you to the continuation – interrupted by the pandemic – of the cycle for the little ones 0-5 years old: “With the Little One in the Museum” (meetings take place in the mornings on Tuesdays). For slightly older children (5-12 years old), we still offer the popular “Children’s Museum Academy” (meetings on Saturdays). We also offer Summer / Holidays in the Museum, organized in free time from school classes. All these classes are led by museum educators. In addition, we have also prepared an offer, which can be used independently, without the participation of a museum employee: addressed to families Guides and Suitcases of Museum Explorers.

An important element of our offer for children is also the annual competition “My Adventure in the Museum”, intended for children from 5 years old.

Special educational programs, including proposals for children, also accompany temporary exhibitions. Current information on this can be found on the museum’s website (www.mnp.art.pl) and on the museum’s facebook profile.

The museum is for everyone! Taking into consideration the benefits of interacting with art and even getting the youngest used to the exhibition space, we invite people with children aged 1.5 – 5 years old to the classes which will address the issues of contemporary art. We hope that these meetings will contribute to enriching the reception of selected works. For the youngest it might be the first invitation to the world of art and inspired play in their life and for adults it will be a short review of the history of art.

Jerzy Nowosielski – Painting as sacrum

According to the artist, the most interesting phenomena arise at the intersection of two cultures – Orthodox and Catholic-Protestant. Taking this thought as a starting point, we will look at the artist’s work as a meeting of East and West. We will consider why he opted for the way of depicting characteristic of icons. The children’s activating game will consist of creating a picture – a jigsaw puzzle with elements appearing in Nowosielski’s works.
