Guided tour of the exhibition “About Sharing. Art on the (Polish-German) border” in English

The point of departure for reflecting on art thematizing the issue of border will be the dual meaning of the Polish word ‘dzielenie’ – as both ‘dividing’ or ‘separating’ as well as ‘sharing’ possession and experience. During the guided tour, the visitors will listen about contemporary artworks and pieces from the nineteenth century that can be attributed to the border art current. Emphasis will be placed on art that address issues related to the Polish–German border over the past thirty years, since the watershed year of 1989 and the signing of the border treaty between Poland and Germany in 1990. While exploring the exhibition, the visitors will be able to touch a concrete wall the temperature of the human body, experience oppressive sensations of border crossing, or enter the embassy of New Amerika.
