The Furniture Conservation Studio has been operating with breaks and in various compositions for many years, but in its current location and team since 2015. The scope of conservator’s care concerns mainly conservation – also in a full, reconstructive scope, of non-polychromed wooden objects – sculptures and furniture, their carpentry and sculptural decorations. Full range of upholstery works are also carried out here, starting from small repairs to complete reconstructions of shapes, upholstery and pleats. Numerous wooden objects from the MNP collections, which differ in terms of technique, material and origin, are also subjected to conservation works here. Conservators have unique knowledge about historical techniques of construction of objects, decoration and finishing of their surfaces.
