The Museum Prevention Studio – the youngest of the museum conservatory departments, established in the 1980s, carries out a wide range of preventive conservation tasks, covering all the diverse collections of the museum, regardless of where they are stored – in permanent, temporary or storeroom exhibitions. The most important is the consistent and constant, archived monitoring of the environment around the museum collections – that is, controlling the microbiological cleanliness, relative humidity, temperature and lighting. PPM also works with collection curators and exhibition designers in setting exhibition conditions for temporary exhibitions in all MNP branches and in the loan of museum collections for other exhibitions in Poland and abroad.
